The objective of the Area 1 RAP is to protect human health and the environment and the protect beneficial uses of ground water at the site by removing contaminants from the soil to a level where they cannot further contaminate ground water, preventing ingestion of groundwater having contaminant concentrations above State of California drinking water standards called Maximum Contaminant Levels, and finally, restoring the ground water aquifer to drinking water standards.
