Document Description
The project involves bank stabilization along a 40-foot section of southern bank of Hensley Creek, tributary to the Russian River, Mendocino County. Approximately 40 feet along the southern bank of Hensley Creek has failed due to high creek flows and improper drainage. The failing bank is threatening to undermine a section of the vineyard road property. The operator wishes to excavate a 3-foot trench at the base of the original bank and place angular rip rap at the toe. The Department of Fish and Game recommended that the toe and tie rip rap be placed in a manner which will protect the existing bank and a large oak tree downstream of the site. The rip rap will be back filled and the fill sloped to the existing road. The site is located at Yokayo Vineyards at 740 Hensley Creek Road, Ukiah California (Section 5; T16N; R12W of the Ukiah 7.5 minute U.S. Geological Survey quadrangle). The Department of Fish and Game is issuing a Streambed Alteration Agreement Number 1600-2003-5291-3 pursuant to Fish and Game Code Section 1602.
