Document Description
The proposed project involve the installation of approximately 1650+/- lineal feet of new underground recovery pipe and replacement of approximately 1250 +/- lineal feet of existing line and related improvements. The improvements are shown in more detail on plans on file in the District's offices. The piping will collect treated irrigation water that is applied on the property under authorized discharge and orders issued by the State Water Quality Control Board. After collection, the treated water will be pumped by underground pipe to the District's wastewater treatment plant for further treatment and disposal.

Reasons for Exemption
The project site is owned and operated by the Napa Sanitation District and is approved by the State of California for use as a disposal area for treated wastewater. Thus, installation of piping and other infrastructure necessary to collect and convert treated water is clearly accessory to the principal use of the site. Further, the proposed project does not meet the exceptions to the sue of this exemption specified by section 15300.2 of the guidelines in that the project will not impact a mapped of designated environmental resource, will not damage scenic or historical resources or take place on a site that is identified as a hazardous waste site.
