Construction of a one mega-watt solar field using photovoltaic cells for production of electricity for campus use. The solar field site is located on the eastern edge of the Cerro Coso College, Indian Wells Valley campus on approximately nine acres. The facility includes a service center distribution building encompassing approximately 2,000 square feet and containing various types of electrical distribution and monitoring equipment. The completed project would connect back to the main campus electrical service and tie into the existing utility grid to reduce the District's dependence on commercial electricity supply.
