Document Description
The Department of Toxic Substances Control has approved the renewal of the hazardous Waste Permit for the Sandia National Laboratories/California (SNL/CA) on October 25, 2018, in accordance with California Health and Safety Code section 25200 et. seq and California Code of Regulations (CCR), Title 22, Division 4.5. The Permit authorizes the continued operation of on-site storage and treatment of hazardous waste including Low-Level Mixed Waste and Combined Waste. Mixed waste is a Resources Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) hazardous waste contaminated with low levels radioactivity whereas Combined waste is a non-RCRA hazardous waste contaminated with low levels of radioactivity. All waste is generated from various operations at the SNL/CA. the Permit will be effect for 10 years and expires on October 25, 2018. Note: See NOD for full project description
