Present Land Use in the New Model Colony area of the City of Ontario consists of Agricultural uses. The site is currently farmed in row crops. The area surrounding the site includes dairies, cropland, and rural residences. Current zoning of the site is Specific Plan with an Agricultural Overlay district which allows for the continuation of agricultural uses. The site includes General Plan Designation of Residential- Low Density, Residential- High Density, Town Center/College, Flood Control, Greenbelts, and Park.
Document Description
The Parkside Specific Plan consists of the development of approximately 430 single-family residential dwelling units and 1,517 multi-family residential units withing the 250-acre site. It also provides for approximately 12 acres of commercial uses at the southwest corner of Edison Avenue and Archibald Avenue. The development is proposed around approximately 50 acres of the "Great Park", a 355-acre regional park system located in the central portion of the New Model Colony. Approximately 6 acres of recreational trails are also proposed primarily along the Cucamonga Creek Channel which bisects the site. A fire station is also proposed within the Specific Plan.
