Document Description
The proposed project would include the construction of a 116,550 gross sq. ft. addition adjacent to the existing McHenry Library and renovation of the existing 161,700 gross sq. ft. building. The proposed area of disturbance (excluding the existing building) is 2.85 acre. The project site is in the center of the UCSC campus, along the Steinhart Way campus service road. The project would also include: access improvements; reconfiguration of parking lots; installation of storm water management system; installation of utility connections: and the addition of new 65,000 gallon, 20-feet-tall water storage/tank system. The new library addition would provide research space for instruction and research in Arts, Mathematics, Writing, and campus wide programs. Renovations to the existing library building would support accessibility and life-safety code compliance.
