Document Description
The Central Campbell Redevelopment Project Area was created in 1983 consisting of 260 acres in and around the downtown area (the "Original Project Area"). In 1992, the Redevelopment Plan was amended to expand the project area to include the McGlincy Lane are (the"Expanded Project Area"). The Central Cambell Redevelopment Plan (the"Plan") empowers the Agency with the right to acquire property through the power of eminent domain to carry out the goals and objectives of the Plan. CA. Redevelopment Law is regulated under Health Safety Code Section 33000 et seq. Secion 33333.2 (a)(4) requires that Agencies impose a time limit not to exceed 12 years to exercise the authority, unless amended by Plan amendment. The Agency's current authority to exercise its power of eminent domain expires on June 16, 2004. The Agency is proposing a Plan amendment to extend that authority to June 16, 2014.
