Document Description
The California Department of Corrections proposes to construct a new condemned male inmate complex (CIC) on an approximate 40-acre site within the existing boundaries of San Quentin State Prison, which would provide 1,024 cells that could safely house 1,408 condemned male inmates. The CIC would be separated from the main prison by an outer patrol road, security fencing, and an inner patrol road. Elements of the project include high-mast lighting, program service buildings (i.e. correctional treatment center, housing units) and a kitchen.
