The proposed Program would consist of up to 15 new recharge basins in the San Jacinto River Channel, with a basin footprint of approximately 100 acres and a total disturbance area (i.e, including related facilities and construction activities) of approximately 150 acres; upgrades to two existing pump stations; a new approximately 7.7 mile-long water supply pipeline; up to eight extraction wells located west of the San Jacinto River; and up to six monitoring wells located near the western edge of the proposed recharge basins. The proposed program would convey State Water Project water via the Lakeview Pipeline and EMWD pipeline to the recharge basins, where it would infiltrate the San Jacinto Watershed\ Groundwater Basin and be stored until it (or an equivalent amount of other groundwater in the basin) would be extracted by wells for consumptive use.
