Document Description
Treatment facility upgrades and processes at the RWCF would bring the discharged effluent into compliance with RWQCB permitting requirements, including reducing ammonia levels discharged into the San Joaquin River. A benefit of the proposed facilities would be the restoration of the RWCF's treatment capacity to 48 million gallons per day (mgd). Facilities and processes proposed at the RWCF include enhanced primary treatment using ferric chloride and polymer, new primary scum thickener, sludge pumps, gravity belt thickener, nitrifying blotowers, tertiary filters, filtered water pumps and backwash recovery pond; conversion of Water Treatment Pond 4 into a treatment wetland, modifications to the chlorine contact channel and injection and new and upgraded support facilities.
