Document Description
Coastal development & CUP application #CDP-02-16 (filed 9/4/02) & CUP-02-07 CalTrans/SEMWC applicant. Nearest APN 517-231-02 Highway 101 r/w at Seawood Estates. A CDP & CUP for a joint project between CalTrans & the Seawood Estates Mutual Water Co. (SEMWC) to develop a common water storage & distribution system. A combined total of up to 16,000 gallons of water per day will supply the system using water diversions from the Savage & Parvin Creeks. Diversion currently exist on Savage & Parvin Creeks maintained separately by CalTrans & SEMWC, respectively. Both systems will become connected, as described on the plot plans. The water from both sources will become comingled, treated by the exisitng SEMWC systems (CalTrans will cease treatment at its current facility), & provided for use at CalTran's nearby rest area & residences within the Seawood Estates subdivision. Construction will involve the installation of 170 meters of 2 inch PVC telemetry conduit, water meter, electrical cabinet & other appurtenances, as well as 1 or 2 large water storage tanks & pumping equipment to be utilized & maintained by SEMWC. This joint project stems from the State Roadside Rest Area not having sufficient water supplies in the winter because of high turbidity levels & the Seawood Estates not having sufficient supplies during the summer months. The appurtenant permits for the requested water diversion are under application with the State Water Resources Control Board.
