Document Description
The project consists of the seismic retrofit, historic rehabilitation and expansion of the existing Richmond Natatorium (the Plunge). Figures 4 and 5 depict the existing building. The Plunge was originally constructed in 1925 and operated until August 2001, when it was closed due to seismic safety concerns. The Plunge is an approximately 27,590 square foot building that houses a swimming pool, men's and women's locker rooms, a multi-purpose room, and classroom space.
