Document Description
The proposed Alpine Water Users Association (AWUA) project consists of the installation of a new well & related infrastructure producing an estimated 200-300 gallons per minute (gpm) of potable water to meet the requirements of AWUA's existing service area. Well development will be conducted immediately after the drilling operation has been completed. The estimated discharge from the pumping evaluation will be 200-300 gpm of nearly clarified effluent. The well water will be tested for those constituents required by the State of California Dept. of Health Services, including minerals & organic pollutants. The water quality must meet primary & secondary drinking water standards before being put into service as a domestic well. Distribution pipeline placement & connection from the discharge head to pressure zone 1 will require crossing a mainline sewer & drainage culvert, totalling 700 feet. Placement & alignment will follow an existing easement of the existing roadway from the project site to the existing infrastructure located adjacent to SR 189. The well will be housed in a small wooden building of approximately 200 square feet. It is estimated that less than 0.5 acre of land on the project site are expected to be disturbed by these activities.
