Document Description
The Dept. of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) is proposing to approve a draft removal action workplan (RAW) pursuant to authority granted under California Health & Safety Code Chaper 6.8, Division 20. The objective of this removal action (RA) is to clean & demolish & remove a building that has been impacted by past chromium plating activities & to clear the site for further study. The RA is necessary to remove the threat posed by the partially decommissioned plating line & residual hexavalent chromium (CrVl) that remains in the building. By conducting the RA, the threat to human health posed by the building will be removed. Potential downward migration of CRVl due to infiltration of surfact water through the soil beneath the facility will be limited by re-grading & paving the site for improved surface drainage.
