Document Description
Project modification will allow for construction of two Residence Halls and Science Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) academic building and within the existing Soka University campus (the "Modified Project"). The Project requires a CUP to amend the Master Plan of Development for Soka University to consolidate five classroom/laboratory buildings into one larger science building, increase the total sq. footage of the building from 65,000 sq. ft. to 90,425 sf, and increase the maximum building height from 65 feet to 79 feet. The modified project requires Site Development Permits to construct the residence halls and STEM Building, and a Site Development Permit. Each residence hall is approx. 23,077 sf (total of 46,155 sf for both dormitories) and would provide 50 student units and 1 apartment for faculty/staff (total of 100 student housing units and 2 faculty/staff apartments) on approx. a 2.29-acre site. The 4-story STEM Building will be constructed on approx. 1.16 acres located in the center of the campus. Parking to serve the Modified Project is currently available on the campus.
