Document Description
The operator is undertaking a Planned Development of 128 housing units on a vacant 18-acre site directly northeast of the crossing of Watsonville Slough by the Ohlone Parkway. Runoff from the new development will be directed through storm drains to an outfall that enters a detention basin in the southwest corner of the site. Water will flow from this basin through an engineered grassy swale that will tie into an existing, rocked, grassy swale that drains into Watsonville Slough. No grading, placement of hardscape or temporary access/disturbance will occur within the bed and banks of Watsonville Slough. A 30-foot setback from the top of the existing bank will be maintained. An 8-foot pedestrian trail will be constructed within the setback's northern edge. The California Department of Fish and Game is executing a Lake or Streambed Alteration Agreement Number 1600-2004-0168-3 pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project operator, Craig Champion/Western Pacific Housing.
