This site is under the Southern California Edison power line aerial easement. It is presently a vacant parcel of land. It is zoned M-3, heavy industrial and its land use designation in the General Plan is parks/open space. The General Plan amendment will redesignate this property to a mixed-use/commercial/manufacturing designation consistent with the present zoning.
Document Description
The project applicant has submitted a site plan, conditional use permit and general plan amendment to allow the construction of a self-storage facility on a Southern California Edison power line right-of-way. The subject site is presently vacant; the prior tnant was an outdoor nursery. The site is situated underneath overhead power lines with a land use designation of parks/open space. The planning commission has recommended approval to the city council to change the land use designation to a mixed-used/commercial/industrial and allow the construction of 8 detatched low-rise buildings composed of self-storage units and 1 office building for a total building area of 100,952 square feet. The city council meeting is scheduled for 11/11/03.
