Document Description
The project is proposed on the site of existing Parking Lot 22, a 234-space asphalt parking lot, in the western portion of the Main Campus. The site is approximately 4.5 acres and is bordered by Ocean Road to the north; Ocean Road, a bike path and the community of Isla Vista to the west; Parking Lot 23 to the south (the future site of the Student Resource Building); and the Events Center to the east. The proposed project would provide a total of 1,156 parking spaces in the parking structure and adjoining surface parking lot. The parking structure would range in height from 48' above existing grade on its west side to 58' above existing grade on its east side. The parking structure would have six and one-half levels, with one level below ground and five and one-half levels at or above ground level. Access to the parking structure would be provided from Ocean Road. The proposed project includes an amendment to Figure 16 of the UCSB 1990 Long Range Development Plan to revise the maximum building height of the project site from 45 to 65 feet.
