Document Description
The Alpaugh Joint Powers Authority proposes to make water system improvements within the Alpaugh Irrigation District in order to alleviate low pressure conditions, replace leaking water mains, provide additional water storage and connect a new water well to said water storage facilities. New water distribution pipes will take the place of some currently antiquated and leaking pipes. It is proposed that they be of adequate size to meet requirements for water demands, fire flow plus maximum daily demand, and a minimum pressure of 20 psi under fire flow conditions. It is proposed that the elevated water storage tank will be replaced by a ground-level storage tank with a capacity of no more than 400,000 gallons. Finally, two additional components proposed for installation are fire hydrants and new services including water meters. There will also be a pipeline, from 1/2 mile to one mile in length, installed connecting the new well to the proposed new water storage facilities.
