The Department of Toxic Substance Control (DTSC) has approved the Closure Plan for the former Avila Oil Facility. The goal of the closure plan is to "clean close" the former facility to allow unrestricted future use of the property. All hazardous waste and waste residues will be removed to the extent necessary to achieve background levels. This closure project has two main goals: (1) excavation of approximately 250 cubic yards of soil; and (2) sampling and analysis to confirm that clean soil levels have been achieved through excavation.
