Document Description
The project consists of the relocation of two existing CXT self-contained vault restroom buildings from their present locations at beach marker #6 and #7 respectively, approximately 400 feet east to allow for the expanded seasonal western snowy plover/California least tern protective fending located in the open riding area of the SVRA. The vault restroom buildings are fully contained and excavation is necessary to install the lower vault portion of each bulding below the surface of the sand. The proposed building locations are in the open riding area, in open sand, with no vegetation, creating minimal impact. The depth of excavation at each proposed building site will be approximately five feet. The extend of excavation would create a hole approximately 10 feet by 15 feet to accommodate the vault portion of the building. Each excavation will be backfilled with the sand material removed and topped with approximately 12 yards of road base material to create a stable footing for the building.
