Document Description
Restore aspen stands along General Creek in Sugar Pine Point State Park to restore native vegetation and reduce fuel loads. Project will address the lack of regeneration of aspens due to overcrowding from mostly white fir trees. Work will be carried out in five stands adn will include: General Creek North Stand: Hand crews will thin trees up to 24" dbh and debris will be either burned, chipped, or sold as logs., Olympic Meadows Stands (two stands): Hand crews will thin trees up to 24" dbh and debris will be either burned or sold as logs, Lily Pond and Upper General Creek Stands: Hand crews will thin trees up to 18" dbh and debris will be burned. All work will be done while ground is dry. No trees> 6" dbh will be removed within 50' of any stream; no aspen trees will be cut.
