This is a temporary project to further investigate the feasibility of the ground water injection-recovery concept in the Seaside Ground Water Basin. Excess winter flow from the Carmel River will be treated to meet drinking water standards, then transported to the Seaside Basin via the existing California-American Water Company (Cal-Am) pipeline that connects the Carmel Valley and Seaside distribution systems.
