Document Description
Current emergency work is designed to keep the road open to traffic by re-paving cracked areas as they develop. Horizontal drilling on the uphill side of the highway should help drain water from the slip plane to the surface. If needed, traffic may be reduced to one lane using signing and traffic lights. As a permanent solution, Caltrans plans to construct a tied-back soldier pile wall approximately 150' long and 20-25' tall on the downhill side of the highway. Other incidental work will include installation of drainage, paving, and striping.
