Document Description
The City of Gardena proposes the development of a new bus operations and maintenance facility. The proposed facility would include all elements necessary for a comprehensive and efficient operation of a bus-transit swervice operated by Gardena Municipal Bus Lines. As envisioned, the proposed project would consist of an 11,892 sp.ft. administration building; an 8971 sq. ft. operations buildings; a 41,000 sq. ft. vehicle maintenance building; and a 7514 sq. ft. bus-wash and fuel island. The proposed facility would provide parking or 105 transit buses 20 paratransit vehicles and 154 parking spaces for employees and visitors. In addition 34% (134.519 sq ft) of the total acres would be allocated to site circulation setbacks and landscaping requirements. Project will explore the application of "Sustainable Design" (Green Building) concepts.
