Document Description
The Operator proposes to stabilize the bank of Cerrito Creek behind the house at 390 Vermont Avenue, Berkeley, Alameda County. A bank failure/landslide occurred at the rear of the house and threatened the structure. Two retaining walls were constructed behind the residence to stabilize the banks. To complete the work, the operator will install a bubbler box at the outfall under Vermont Avenue that collects runoff and conveys the water down the channel. The 3 foot by 3 foot bubbler box will be pre-fabricated and installed into the bank. The box will have an overflow gate in the top and 4 inch holes at the lower end of the box to allow passage of low flows. The creek bank will be live-staked with willow and bay trees on one foot box to allow passage of low flows. The creek bank will be live-staked with willow and bay trees on one foot centers and covered with erosion control matting and a coir roll just above the top of the creek bank. There are two stumps that are deflecting flow in the stream bed. The small stump will be completely removed and the slope will be returned to pre-project conditions.
