Document Description
The Clean Harbors Los Angeles, LLC facility (formerly Safety Kleen Inc.) is a commercial offsite treatment and storage facility. The facility accepts a wide variety of hazardous wastes and consists of six hazardous waste management units. Five of those units are container storage areas and one is a six hazardous waste management unit. Five of those units are container storage areas and one is a wastewater treatment area. As part of the permit, the facility must prepare and maintain an Emergency Contingency Plan that addresses the procedures for emergencies. The contingency plan provides a list of local authorities that the facility has designated to respond to emergencies that occur at the facility. It also provides a list of facility personnel that are designated to respond to emergencies that occur at the facility. During operating hours, at least one emergency coordinator is at the facility or on call and able to reach the facility in a short period of time. The facility is not on the Hazardous Waste and Substances Site List (also known as the Cortese List).
