The project will amend the County General Plan by adding the Ukiah Valley Area Plan. The Valley encompasses a full range of General Plan classifications and zoning, from urban in the vicinity of the City of Ukiah to 'remote residential, and agriculture (no lands are in Timber Production). The unincorporated communities of Calpella, The Forks, and Talmage as well as suburban subdivisions exist side by side with rural residential and agricultural land.
Document Description
The County proposes to adopt the Ukiah Valley Area Plan as an element of the Mendocino County General Plan. The draft plan tentatively approved by the Board of Supervisors includes Open Space and Conservation, Historic and Archaeological Resources, Safety, Airport, Parks and Recreation, Community Facilities and Services, Circulation and Transportation, Community Design and Land Use Elements. Noise and Housing are not included.
