Document Description
The proposed project will improve the treatment process of the Hangtown Creek Wastewater Treatment Plan to enable its effluent quality and sludge handling and disposal activities to meet new effluent limitations for turbidity, nitrates, and total coliform adopted by the Regional Water Quality Control Board, as an amendment to the City's Waste Discharge Requirements Order No. 5-01-045, NPDES Permit No. CA0078956 and sewage sludge disposal requirements promulgated by the EPA. The proposed improvements include: modified and improved activated sludge processing; improved disinfection; enclosed chlorine storage area; reliable standby power; and, improved process instrumentation and control. This project will not increase capacity of the Wastewater Treatment Plant.
