Document Description
The proposed project would construct a storm drain system for the proposed shopping center and connect the new system into the existing outlet. The new storm drain system would be constructed using 48-inch diameter high-density polyethylene pipe (HDPE) tied into the existing outlet, which would be replaced using a 60-inch HDPE culvert with a flared end section. A concrete bulkhead would be constructed to support and anchor the outlet in place. Rock slope protection, approximately 12-inches in diameter, would be placed at the outlet to dissipate the energy of water exiting the flared end section. Oil and grease separators would be installed in the system and maintained at appropriate intervals to reduce or eliminate the introduction of petroleum-based pollutants into the Salinas River. A minor amount of riparian willow habitat would be trimmed to allow access to the site. The California Department of Fish and Game is executing a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement Number 1600-2003-0122-3 pursuant to Section 1603 of the Fish and Game Code to the project operator.
