Document Description
There are four main areas of work. 1) Efficiency improvement opportunities for 3-4 industry participants from electronics, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical organizations, primarily located in Southern California will be investigated. Energy benchmarks in up to 6 cleanrooms or laboratories will be obtained. 2) Further development of the Berkeley Fume Hood and demonstration in industrial settings will continue. 3) Identification of energy efficiency improvement opportunities and benchmarking energy use in 6-10 data centers at locations of industry partners, at least four in Southern California. 4) Demonstration projects developed through the above work will be identified and undertaken to showcase best practices and new technologies. The demonstrations will generally involve industry partners in real operational settings, but could involve other research facilities such as the research data centers at Hewlett-Packard, or Georgia Tech.
