Document Description
The project consists of the addition of 16 perimeter landfill gas extraction wells to an existing gas collection, monitoring and flaring system at the Western Regional Sanitary Landfill. The wells will be approximately 70 feet deep with a 24-inch diameter. Each well will be cased with a 4 inch PVC casing the entire depth of the well.

Minor alteration of existing facilities, which do not result in an expansion of the use beyond that existing. Also, the addition of safety and health protection devices in conjunction with existing facilities. The landfill gas control system was installed as a health and safety measure due to the explosion hazard associated with landfill gas. These extraction wells are being installed to enhance the effectiveness of this system. Implementation of this project will not affect the landfill's capacity or site life.
