Document Description
The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (Metropolitan) proposes to repair the access road leading to telecommunications equipment located on the hills on the north side of Diamond Valley Lake. Metropolitan proposes to grade the access road to repair erosion damage. The grading will allow vehicles to access the telecommunications equipment located on the hills north of Diamond Valley Lake in order to perform routine maintenance to the equipment. This type of grading work will be required approximately every three months to maintain this roadway.

The proposed project consists of the operation, repair, maintenace, or minor alteration of existing public structures, facilities, mechanical equipment, or topographical features, involving no expansion of use beyond that existing at the time of the lead agency's determination. The project also consists of minor alterations in the condition of land, water, and/or vegetation which do not involve removal of healthy, mature, scenic trees. The proposed project also is exempt because the activity is covered by a general rule that CEQA applies only to projects that have the potential for causing a significant effect on the envioronment. Where can it be seen with certainty that there is no possibility that the activity in question may have a significant effect on the environment, the activity is not subject to CEQA.
