Document Description
An existing tide and electrical conductivity (EC) station on Old River at Bacon Island has received severe cathodic corrosion to the point where it is now a safety issue for the personnel that maintain the station and a potential loss of thousands of dollars of streamflow measuring and monitoring equipment. The proposed project will repair the station by replacing the existing 36" galvanized Corrugated Metal Pipe (CMP) stilling well base with a new 48" galvanized CMP stilling well. The base of the existing 36" stilling well will have to be removed form the river bed and the base of the 48" stilling well will have to be embedded into the river at the same location. At the same time of the stilling well replacement, new intake tubes and an EC Probe carrier pipe will be run into the water from the new stilling well.
