Document Description
The Morgan Hill Unified School District is renovating the Los Paseos Elementary School to add three additional classrooms and construct a Multi-Purpose building which will house a program room, offices, restrooms, resource room/library, kitchen, cafeteria and gymnasium. The Multi-purpose building is a joint use facility of 16,994 square feet of which 1,243 square feet is devoted to the City of San Jose Parks and Recreation Department.

This project involves the minor addition to an existing elementary school which will not increase the original capacity by more than 25% or ten classrooms. In addition, this project is characterized as in-fill development which (1) is consistent with the general plan and zoning designation of the City of San Jose, (2) occurs within the city limits of San Jose with a project site of less than 5 acres surrounded by urban uses, (3) has no value as habitat for endangered, rare or threatened species, (4) will not result in any significant effects relating to traffic, noise, air quality, or water quality, and (4) the site can be adequately srved by al required utilities and public services.
