Document Description
The proposed 2003 Specific Plan pursues a series of objectives including preserving industrial land, removing urban blight, improving pedestrian movement within the project area, as well as between east and west San Carlos, increasing tax revenue to the City, and reducing traffic. Implementation of the proposed project assumes the possible development/ redevelopment of approximately 1.7 million square feet of commercial and industrial land uses, 140 hotel rooms and 160 dwelling units over a period of ten to twenty years within the eastern portion of San Carlos. The 2003 Specific Plan area includes a portion of the City known as the HIA that is now within the City limits. In addition to specific goals and policies, the proposed 2003 East Side Specific Plan provides specific land use designations.
