Document Description
A Coastal Development Permit for the development, maintenance and operation of an approximately 12,000 s.f. permanent animal shelter to house, treat and adopt out up to 400 domestic "companion" animals, to be located near the Arcata Airport. The facility will require six (6) full time staff positions in addition to various volunteers. Business hours will be a minimum of six (6) hours per day, Monday through Friday, three (3) hours on Saturday and closed on Sunday. The facility will adhere to regular County holidays. A thirty (30)-car parking lot will be delineated for the use of the estimated ten (10) to thirty (30) public visits perday in addition to the employees. All animal waste will enter into the public sewer system. The parcel is served by community water and sewer. The proponent intends to attenuate noise by utilizing structural acoustical materials.
