Document Description
The proposed project would include program-level CEQA approval of the City of Lodi Wastewater Master Plan and project-level CEQA approval for the proposed WPCF improvements inlcuding various on-site improvements, use of a new outfall to Bishop Cut to increase dilution (i.e., larger channel than Dredger Cut, where the existing outfall is located), the creation of treatment wetlands, and the potential use of additional land application sites. On-site improvements would generally consist of additional concrete basins and mechanical equipment, including new screens and pumps, two new aeration basins, a new secondary clarifier, and a new anaerobic disgester. These improvements would allow the City to better oxidize, remove, and dispose of organic material contained in the wastewater. The creation of treatment wetlands would also provide for nitrate-nitrogen removal, heavy metal removal, temperature equalization, and temporary water storage. The proposed sites include the City-owned site (approx. 200 acres) located immediately west of the WPCF, or a portion of the Rio Blanco site (approx. 1,000 acres) located southwest of the WPCF (see Figure 2-Wetland and Land Acquisition Alternative Sites). Only one of the wetland sites would be selected.
