In 1999, California Lutheran University prepared a Campus Master Plan, which depicts how future development would be distributed on the campus by the University's anticipated buildout year of 2015. The campus was divided into four planning areas. The arrangement of and the scale of the land uses were known. However, site-specific development components within the planing areas were only conceptually designed.
