Document Description
The Alvord Unified School District ("District") proposes to undertake the acquisition of approximately 13 acres in conjunction with the Riverside Community College's acquisition of 3 acres for the construction and operation of the proposed Education Center on approximately 16 acres located on the southeastern corner of Ambs Drive and Raley Drive ("Project"). The Project contemplates construction of classroom facilities for students grades K-5, facilities for educational and care programs for preschool aged children, and teacher training facilities. The project will be organized in single-story buildings with covered walkways and fencing. Facilities to be constructed include classrooms for approximately 1,000 students; administration and library buildings; kitchen; outdoor food shelter; computer lab; daycare building, multi-purpose auditorium; parking facilities for visitors and staff; bus-loading/drop-off area; parent loading/ drop-off area, and athletic playcourts including roadscape and turf playfields. Lighting includes low level security lighting, signage lighting and illumination of the surface parking lot and associated pedestrian areas and the Project would be surrounded by perimeter fencing. The Project will serve the needs of the District and the Community it serves. Educational programs will be offered during the day, but occasional evening uses are anticipated.
