The project will renovate interior portions of the Geffen Playhouse and construct two additions: 1) a two-story plus mezzanine addition to the southeast side of the building, which will house a second stage with up to 120 seats and a lobby with new entry from Le Conte Avenue, and 2) a second floor to the existing southwest wing of the building to accommodate offices. New construction would add approximately 13,200 gross square feet (gsf) to the existing 23,700-gsf building.
