Document Description
Grant of Ecosystem Restoration Program funds for acquisition of fee title to land by the Sacramento Valley Conservancy (SVC). SVC negotiated an option to buy 4062+/- acres of oak woodlands and grasslands for $11,373,600 in this area (Deer Creek Hills) in October of 2001. SVC purchased 1760 acres of Deer Creek Hills on October 9, 2002, using cost-share funds. SVC is prepared to close escrow on or before September 30, 2003, on the remaining 294 acres of Phase I using the Resources Agency grant funds.

This project will allow for permanent preservation of land in its existing natural condition. No physical changes to the land will occur based on this land acquisition grant. The County of Sacramento is a partner in funding the overall Deer Creek Hills project, and endorses establishing an open space, preservation area along the Consumnes River watershed.
