Document Description
Mow approximately 30 acres of meadow and/or perimeter fuel break surrounding the Vallejo Home at Sonoma State Historic Park, as part of annual fuel abatement activities for fire protection, and at the request of the Sonoma City Fire Department. A District resource ecologist and/or DPR-qualified bird surveyor will survey the project area for ground-nesting birds immediately prior to mowing; any nests found will be flagged and avoided. No ground disturbance will occur; mowing will only occur after the ground is dry enough to prevent mowers from displacing soil in wet areas.
