Notice of Exemption

Exempt Status
Categorical Exemption
Type, Section or Code
Class 3, 4; Sec 15303, 15304
Reasons for Exemption
No potential for significant impacts to the environment is anticipated. A resource ecologist will ensure avoidance of significant impacts to natural resources. An archaeologist will ensure avoidance of significant impacts to cultural resources. Malibu Creek General Plan and the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area General Plan identify this area as an urban park. The new facility is located in an area that is aesthetically unobtrusive yet accessible to the public. Project does not involve removal of healthy, mature, scenic trees (class 4). Additionally, the project footprint is confined to a previously graded site, except for utility connections.
