Document Description
Prior to becoming part of the California State Park system in 1968, several areas of the park had been used for mining operations and off road vehicle traffic. Several vehicles have either broken down or have become stuck and have been abandoned. Equipment remaining for the minimum operations and other debris from activity prior to the area becoming a State Park are now detracting from the natural beauty of the Park and, in many cases, pose health and safety concerns. The proposed site remediation includes removal and disposal of abandoned vehicles and much of the debris from previous users of the area. Disposal will be at approved facilities. Areas disturbed by the removal will be restored by grading to conform with orginal site contours.
