Excavate a trench 5-foot deep through the top of the existing dike. An 8-inch diameter pipe and a siphon, with a pump-Rite L500 screen constructed of 20-gauge perforated stainless steel plate with holes in the screen constituting 50 percent of the open area of the screen and screen mesh size not to exceed 3/32-inch, shall be lifted into place from the haul road and installed within the existing riprap and concrete block bank protection on the river side of the dike. One support shall be placed within the existing riprap about the 5,000 cfs flow line. A back-flow check valve, shutoff valve, and other appurtenances shall be installed through the existing dike separating the Tuolumne River and the wetland, for the purpose of accessing riparian water to maintain a 200-acre wetland. Only annual forbs within the wetland area would be disturbed during the installation.
