Document Description
The project entails the replacement of a culvert with a flap-gate that is in disrepair. The culvert crosses through a berm that bisects Pond 12 and an agricultural ditch that runs along the west side of the pond. The culvert and flap-gate system, serve to release water into the irrigation ditch when the water level in the pond exceeds the level in the irrigation ditch. This keeps the pond from overflowing. The culvert also has a screw gate on the pond side to shut off the culvert if needed. The culvert is 2 feet in diameter and about 20 feet in length and the replacement will be of the same diameter and of the same diameter and of the approximate same length.

Reasons for Exemption
The Project is exempt under Title 14, Division 6, Chapter 3, Section 15302, because it is the replacement of an existing structure where the new structure will be locatd on the same site as the structure replaced. And because the new culvert will have substantially the same purpose and capacity as the culvert replaced.
