Document Description
The proposed Banner Island project, which consists of a 5,000-seat baseball stadium, a 10,000-seat professional arena, a 150-unit hotel complex, and an 84-unit residential development, is located in downtown Stockton on approximately 20 acres immediately north of and adjacent to the Stockton Channel within the West End Redevelopment Area in San Joaquin, County. The primary purpose of the proposed project is to provide the City with a regional sports facility. However, in addition to sporting events, the project is expected to contribute to the image and attractiveness of downtown and to public recognition of the downtown area as an entertainment destination. Generally, the project would add to recreation and entertainment opportunities within the City, provide a venue for other community events, such as concerts, and improve the quality of life in Stockton. The proposed project would provide associated access, parking, concessions, utilities, and related site improvements.
