Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes to replace two bridges on State Route 128 in Sonoma County at the Redwood Creek (post mile 21.8) and Maacama Creek (post mile 17.3) crossings (Project). The California Department of Fish and Game (Department) is issuing this Streambed Alteration Agreement #1600-2010-0065-3, for the Project. The new bridges will have the same number of lanes, however the lanes will be wider by 2 feet and the shoulders will be increased to the standard 8 feet. Two support columns will be placed in the bed or Maacama Creek. The footings for the columns will be constructed using cast-in-drill-holes piles. Both creeks are perennial and support special status salmonids. Riparian vegetation will be permanently removed and mitigated for onsite and offsite through a Riparian Mitigation Plan to be submitted to the Department for approval.
